The TW Steel VS34 is a tough men's watch from the Volante collection. The designers were inspired by the car and racing world. With the TW Steel Volante watches, the largest watch brand in the Netherlands has chosen affordable watches with good quality as you are used to from TW Steel.

TW Steel VS34 with chronograph

The watch has a diameter of 48 millimetres and features a chronograph, tachymeter and date display. Striking is the black dial with the small dials for the seconds hand and chronograph which are surrounded by blue, just like the large dial.

Functioning of the tachymeter

With the chronograph, you can not only record time, but also measure speed (tachymeter). To do this, there are numbers on the outer edge of the dial. These are the number of kilometres per hour. To measure speed, you must first measure out a stretch of a kilometre. When a vehicle starts this kilometre, turn on the chronograph. When the vehicle has reached the end point of the kilometre, you stop the chronograph. Where the second hand is pointing at that moment, that is the average speed the vehicle travelled over that kilometre.

Movement and strap

The TW Steel VS34 features a Miyota 6S10 movement, shatterproof tempered mineral glass and the watch is water resistant to 10 bar. What also sets the Volante watches apart is the watch strap, which is made of textile. Around the VS34 is a strap made of dark blue textile with a steel clasp. At first, the strap will feel somewhat stiff, but very soon it closes smoothly around your wrist.
