Did you get that! A cool Swiss Made chronograph watch on your wrist from, say, GC or Versace and then it turns out that the second hand of your chronograph is not in the right position at all! Or even worse: also the 1/10 second hand and/or the minute hand of your Swiss Made chronograph watch are not in the right position. Very annoying and not neat of course. Many of these models have a Swiss Ronda or ISA movement. We tip you how to adjust your watch properly again.
Fortunately, there is nothing wrong with your watch. It's just a matter of adjustment. And: setting your Swiss Made chronograph is very simple! This is an operation you can easily do yourself. In this blog, we give you a short step-by-step plan so that your Swiss Made chronograph watch functions optimally again.
If you order a watch from WatchXL, we will set it completely for you. We think this is a nice touch and it allows us to check whether the watch is working properly. We do the same for chronograph watches. We set all the movements to the correct position so that you can immediately start using the watch as a chronograph.
It could well be that one day you change the time by pulling out the crown all the way and accidentally press the upper pusher. As a result, your chrono watch will then be out of time.
We have written to you before about how to reset the chronograph on most watches. But for a chronograph watch with a Swiss-made Ronda movement, it works slightly differently. With this step-by-step plan and our instruction video, you can reset your chrono watch to the correct setting:
Step 1
Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the extreme position
Step 2
Press the upper and lower pushers simultaneously and hold them down for at least 2 seconds until the large seconds hand rotates once. Now the watch is in setting mode.
Step 3
Press the upper pusher to set the chronograph second hand neatly to the correct position.
Step 4
Switch to the next watch you want to set by pressing the lower pusher
Step 5
For example, set the 1/10 second hand by pressing the upper pusher again until this timepiece is also in the correct position
Step 6
Repeat the steps if necessary for the minute hand by pressing the lower pusher so that you reach the chronograph minute hand movement and set it with the upper pusher.
Step 7
Push the crown all the way back in and screw it on.
In this instructional video, we set the chronograph of a Swiss Made GC X56008G2S men's watch for you:
Setting watches with a Swiss ISA movement (e.g. many of our Gc models) must be slightly different from setting a watch with a Ronda movement. Follow this step-by-step plan to set your chronograph watch with ISA movement:
Step 1
Pull the crown out to the 2nd position (which also sets the date)
Step 2
Press the upper pusher to set the chronograph second hand to the 12 o'clock position. Keep pressing the pusher until it is at the 12 o'clock position.
Step 3
Press lower pusher and use this to set the chronograph minute hand. Also press and hold this button until the minute hand is neatly at the 12 position.
Step 4
Push the crown back in again. The chronograph should now be set correctly.
Your Swiss Made chronograph watch is now correctly set and is again perfectly positioned.
Good luck! And it still doesn't work? Please contact WatchXL. We will be happy to help you.
